Gavin O’Curry graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1992 with a degree in sculpture. O’Curry’s solo exhibitions include The Past is a Foreign Country, at Oonagh Young Gallery, Dublin, 2016, New Paintings, at Peppercanister Gallery, Dublin, 2012, The Lost American/Crying in the Chapel, in The Return at the Goethe Institut, Dublin, in 2009, A Brief History of Time at the Old Museum Arts Centre, Belfast and Eight Years at the Ashford Gallery at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, (both in 2005), Paintings at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin, in 2002 and Domestic Affairs at the Gasworks Gallery, London in 1995.
Group exhibitions include Interlude, Aspects of Irish Landscape Painting at the Douglas Hyde Gallery and Dublin Contemporary, both in 2011. 10,000 to 50 at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 2008, Thinking of Ideas, at the Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast, 2004 and The Holiday Show, RHA Gallery, Dublin, in 2002.
Public collections include Trinity College Dublin, The Office of Public Works, Dublin, and Temple Bar Cultural Trust, Dublin.
Gavin O’Curry was born in London and now lives and works in Dublin.
